One removal company, start to finish
Moving furniture well is a skill: knowing how to get a wardrobe down the stairs of an upper flat, how to load a van so nothing shifts, and how to protect a table on the way. We Shift brings the same care to every job, whether it is a full house move or a single armchair.
Both services below are available across North Shields and North Tyneside. If your job is not quite either of them, call 07786 967182 and ask. Every job starts with a free quote.
House removals in North Shields
Moving house is a big day, and the removal is the part that has to run to time. We Shift handles full house removals and smaller part moves across North Shields and North Tyneside, from a one-bedroom upper flat near the town centre to a family home in Preston, Tynemouth or Whitley Bay.
We load your furniture, boxes and bags, drive them to your new address and carry everything into the rooms you want it in. Furniture travels under removal blankets, and wrapping is available on request for pieces that need more protection. Our vans have tail lifts, so a heavy wardrobe or a fridge freezer goes up on the lift instead of being dragged up a ramp.
What a house move includes
- Loading furniture, boxes and bags
- Removal blankets over furniture in the van
- Wrapping on request for pieces that need it
- Tail-lift vans for heavy and awkward items
- Carrying everything into the rooms you choose
Worth telling us when you call
- How big the move is: the number of rooms, or a rough list
- Upper flats, stairs, lifts or long walks at either end
- Where the van can park at both addresses
- Anything very heavy, fragile or valuable
- The date you need, and how flexible it is
Furniture removal and single items in North Shields
Not every move is a whole house. Single item transport is in our name: a sofa bought second-hand, a wardrobe going to a family member in Wallsend, a fridge freezer for a new flat, or a dining table that has to come down one flight of stairs and go up another. If it will not fit in your car, give us a call.
Looking for a man and van in North Shields to shift one or two things? This is that service, with a Luton van, a tail lift and a team to do the carrying. We also deliver for high street stores, so collecting bulky furniture and carrying it into the right room, not just onto the doorstep, is everyday work for us.
Single items we move
- Sofas, armchairs and beds
- Wardrobes, chests of drawers and dining tables
- Fridges, freezers and washing machines
- Flat-pack furniture still in its boxes
- Furniture bought in a shop or from a private seller
Helpful to know when you book
- Where it is being collected from and where it is going
- Roughly how big and heavy it is, or a photo
- Stairs, narrow hallways or tight turns
- When it needs to arrive
Moving in and around North Shields
Plenty of moves are short ones: from one street in North Shields to the next, from a flat near the Fish Quay to a house in Preston Grange, or along the coast to Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay. A short move still needs the same care, and it is quick to price: tell us both addresses and roughly what is going.
We also take moves further afield. Wallsend, Killingworth and Newcastle are along the Coast Road, and South Shields and Jarrow are just through the Tyne Tunnel, so moving across the river is one job for one team, not two.
Around North Shields
- Within the town, from the Fish Quay to Preston Grange
- Royal Quays, Percy Main, Chirton and Meadow Well
- Along the coast to Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay
Further afield
- West to Wallsend, Howdon and Killingworth
- Through the Tyne Tunnel to South Shields and Jarrow
- Into Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland
