Moving home in North Shields
Every street in North Shields brings something different on moving day. Upper Tyneside flats have their own front door and a steep, narrow staircase behind it. The terraces around the town centre and Northumberland Square can be tight for parking, and the banks down to the Fish Quay are steep. Flats at Royal Quays and along the river can mean a lift, a parking court or a longer walk from the van.
We plan for all of that when we quote, so tell us about stairs, parking and access at both ends. A Luton van with a tail lift suits most streets, and heavy pieces are lifted into it rather than carried up a ramp.

- Moves across the river through the Tyne Tunnel
- Single items collected and delivered across North Tyneside
The right van for every move
Most house moves and single items go in one of our Luton vans. They have tail lifts, so a fridge freezer or a solid wood wardrobe goes up into the van on the lift rather than being carried up a ramp.
For bigger moves there is a larger box lorry. Our vans carry removal blankets and sack trucks, and wrapping is available on request for the pieces that need it.

What customers say about our removals

Arrived on time and kept going
The team turned up on time and moved a very heavy teak dining table down one flight of stairs and up another without any fuss. Everything was in the right rooms within about half an hour. Cheerful, very quick and good value for a part or full house move.

Removals in North Shields: your questions answered
Straight answers to the questions we are asked most. If yours is not here, call or send us a message.
Do you give free removal quotes in North Shields?
Yes. Quotes are free. Call 07786 967182 or send the enquiry form with a rough idea of what needs moving and where, and we will give you a price.
Can you move just one item?
Yes. Single item transport is in our name, so one sofa, a wardrobe, a bed or a dining table is no problem. We move single items as well as full houses.
Do you do full house removals?
Yes. We move everything from one-bedroom flats to family homes, and we carry it all into the rooms you choose at the other end.
Can you move an upstairs flat?
Yes. Plenty of homes in North Shields are upper flats, with a narrow staircase behind their own front door. We do all the carrying up and down the stairs. If a large piece looks tight, mention it when you ask for a quote.
Can you wrap or protect my furniture?
Furniture travels under removal blankets in the van, and a wrapping service is available on request for pieces that need more protection. Mention it when you ask for a quote.
What size of vehicle do you use?
Most moves and single items go in a Luton van with a tail lift. Bigger moves go in a larger box lorry, also with a tail lift, so heavy pieces are lifted in rather than carried up a ramp.
Can you collect furniture from a shop or a private seller?
Yes. We deliver for high street stores, so collecting a sofa, a bed or a wardrobe from a shop or a seller’s home and carrying it into your room is everyday work for us.
Which areas do you cover?
North Shields and the rest of North Tyneside, including Tynemouth, Cullercoats, Whitley Bay, Monkseaton, Preston, Chirton, Wallsend and Shiremoor, plus moves across the river to South Shields and Jarrow and into Newcastle. If you are not sure, call 07786 967182.
